HEYA - physical activity

The Healthy Early Years Awards in Physical Activity are designed to support reflective practice, which is a key area for completion of the award.

At bronze level you will be gathering information and views of parents and staff, assessing your current provision and developing your policy to meet the HEYA Physical Activity Standards and the UK Chief Medical Officers' Physical Activity Guidelines.

At silver level, you will be working on the areas of development identified at bronze level and further areas identified as a result of HEYA physical activity training.

HEYA training must be attended to achieve the silver award. This is fully funded for Southampton providers. Please email the HEYA team for dates of training.

Following training, you will complete an action plan to address all areas identified and to meet all silver standards. You will be strengthening and monitoring the skills and opportunities offered in the setting and increasing your communication to parents and carers to support healthy choices for physical activity in the setting and at home.
