Civil Partnership declaration

During your ceremony you may say the words of the following declaration. There is no requirement to do so, as you will be asked to read through them when you sign the paperwork. However, lots of couples do like to add the declaration into their ceremony. The words are:

“I declare that I know of no legal reason why we may not register as each other’s civil partner. I understand that on signing this document we will be forming a civil partnership with each other.”

Please indicate if you would like to include the declaration in the ceremony, on the notes for ceremony form. The Registrar will guide you through everything you need to do or say, so there is no need to learn it or write anything down.
