Unwanted vehicles

We offer a Car Clear service where your end-of-life vehicle can be collected locally, removed and disposed of legally.

This scheme is available to residents who live within the Southampton city boundary only and have proof of vehicle ownership.

There is currently no charge for this service.

The vehicles can only be given up in person, as your identity needs to be verified. This can be done at the local housing offices, Hightown or St Mary's fire stations and at Gateway.

You will need to print out the 'Project Car Clear' form and take it with you along with:

• Photo identification
• Proof of your address
• Proof of vehicle ownership usually your vehicle registration document
• The vehicle keys

Alternatively, the Environment Agency maintains a list of Authorised Treatment Facilities which are licensed to dispose of vehicles.

Once we have received your form we will arrange collection of your vehicle. This will usually be within five days.
