Southampton weekend Park & Ride

A Park & Ride is a place where you can park your car and then take a bus to get into town or the city. It helps people avoid traffic and makes it easier to find parking in busy places. You leave your car in a safe car park and hop on a bus that takes you straight to the city centre.

Adanac Health & Innovation Campus Car Park, Hurst Way, Southampton, SO16 0AZ.  

The car park can only be accessed from Adanac Drive.  

The bus hub is located on Hurst Way to the north of the car park.  

The car park opens 30 minutes before the first bus departs and closes 30 minutes after the last bus arrives at the site.  

Saturdays

Opens at 6.30am and closes at 9pm.

Sundays and public holidays 

Opens at 8.30am and closes at 7pm.

On weekend match days

The car park will be closed 30 minutes after the last bus has arrived at the car park if this is later than the normal closing time. 

No, we do not take advance bookings for the Park & Ride. Please turn up and pay on the day.

The multi-storey car park has about 1,000 spaces over five floors and includes 51 disabled spaces and 100 electric vehicles spaces.

The car park entrance and exit barrier is 2.1m tall.

The cost of the ticket is £5 and is for one car and up to five people with your parking included. The ticket can be brought on the bus or from the Bluestar app available on Google Play and the App Store. 

Please note that concessionary passes are not valid on the Park & Ride service.

You can purchase your all-day bus ticket for £5 either on the bus, or via the Bluestar app available on Google Play and the App Store.

Cash and contactless payments are accepted on the bus, or you can buy a ticket through the Bluestar app available in the Google Play Store and the App Store.

PR1 will call at Southampton Central Station and terminate at the West Quay underpass stop BP. Buses back to the Park & Ride depart from the Albion Place bus hub, Stop BE.

On weekend matchdays, additional buses signed PR2 will run direct to and from Kingsland Market bus stop on Kingsway, close to St Mary’s Stadium.

On Saturdays buses will run up to every 20 mins from opening to 7pm and every 30 mins from 7pm to close.

On Sundays and bank holidays buses will run up to every 20 mins.

On weekend match days additional frequent buses signed PR2 may run directly between Adanac Park and Kingsway in the City Centre for three hours before kick-off and two hours afterwards.

The Park & Ride buses are operated by Bluestar and feature low floor easy access with space for up to two wheelchairs. The multi-storey car park has 51 disabled spaces and each level of the car park can be accessed via two lifts.

The Adanac Health and Innovation Campus Car Park is managed by the University Hospital Southampton and is used as a weekday Park & Ride facility for staff working at the University Hospital.  

We have permission from the University Hospital Southampton to use the multi-storey car park as a weekend Park & Ride facility. Southampton City Council is therefore responsible for the operation of the site at weekends and on public holidays when the Park & Ride service is running.  

Southampton City Council is also responsible for contracting the Park & Ride bus service, which is currently operated by Bluestar. Please contact the Integrated Transport Service with your issue at public.transport@southampton.gov.uk.
