MOT retest
We can retest your vehicle after repairs have been made at another garage. The test may be free for failure on the listed items or a partial retest fee will be due.
Free retest
The retest is free if the failure was for one or more of the following points and the vehicle is retested before the end of the next working day.
- Bonnet
- Boot lid
- Brake pedal antislip
- Direction indicators
- Doors
- Dropsides
- Fuel filler cap
- Hazard warning
- Horn
- Lamps
- Loading door
- Mirrors
- Registration plate
- Seat belts, but not anchorages
- Seats
- Sharp edges or projections
- Steering wheel
- Tailboard
- Tailgate
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)
- Wheels and tyres
- Windscreen and glass
- Windscreen washers
- Windscreen wipers
Partial Retest Fee
- A fee is due if the MOT retest is within ten working days following the day of initial failure
- This will be done as a partial MOT retest
- The fee may be charged of up to half the original test fee
- You are only allowed one partial re-examination for each full MOT examination
