Award ceremony for young carers
Celebrating Southampton’s Young Carers
On Thursday 13 March Southampton City Council hosted the Southampton Young Carer Awards. These unique awards celebrated the city’s wonderful young carers and give them a chance to shine.
Schools from across the city were invited to nominate children and young people for the following categories:
- Achievement
- Community spirit
- Compassion
- Creative talent
- Friendship and support
- Inspiration
- Leadership
- Personal growth
- Positive attitude
- Resilience
There was even a ‘Young Carer Champion’ award for those who provide a safe space for young carers to be themselves. Over 100 nominations were received with two awards presented for each category.
Congratulations to everybody who received an award. We are proud of each and every one of you, including everyone who received a nomination.
