HAF activities

This category encompasses family-oriented activities that require the presence of a parent or adult guardian alongside their child. It is important to note that these programs are inclusive of a diverse range of children and young people, relying on the attending adult to supervise and support their child.

This term refers to a HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) provision that is capable of delivering sessions to a broad spectrum of children and young people who do not require additional support to access the service. This provision is traditionally not an accessible site.

This designation applies to HAF provisions that can offer sessions or holiday clubs with minimal modifications to their facilities, accommodating the needs of children with moderate additional needs. The provision is traditionally more accessible and secure but may not have the appropriate staffing, resources or facilities to cater for children with more specific needs.

This refers to HAF provisions specifically designed to tailor their structure and environment to meet the needs of children with more complex additional requirements with a self-structured service. This provision does not cater for those children who do not have special Educational Needs (SEN).

The model represents an integrated holiday club system that combines provisions for Special Educational Needs (SEN) with mainstream offerings. It includes tailored and exclusive SEN-specific sessions that operate alongside a mainstream counterpart.

For instance, at XY School, Club A serves as a mainstream holiday club that accommodates children with lower levels of additional needs. In parallel, Club B functions as the SEN-specific holiday club, hosted at the same location and operated by the same provider. This club adopts a more tailored approach to effectively address the needs of children requiring higher levels of support.
