This information has been developed to help you implement the Council's policy for ‘Driving’ and understand your roles and responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Employees/teachers who use their own vehicles for work purposes must have the appropriate licence, MOT certificate, road tax and insurance.
Employees who are driving on duty must comply with the Council’s smoking policy; mobile phone policy; drugs and alcohol policy, and will not drive at excessive speed.
Managers will ensure that child car seats and restraints are available where needed. Managers will consult employees in the avoidance of long and tiring journeys.
