Southampton City Vision Digital Local Plan and Policies Map

Southampton City Vision is our new Local Plan. The Local Plan is a planning policy document which sets out how Southampton City Council, as the Local Planning Authority, intends to deliver the new homes, employment areas, infrastructure and facilities that will be needed to enable the city to grow over the next 15+ years while also protecting and enhancing the city’s environment and green areas.

As part of the national planning reform delivered by the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill there is a requirement for all Local Planning Authority to have a digital Local Plan. Below is ours in the form of a 3D webmap.

The map defaults to displaying all layers related to the Local Plan. These are the spatial representation of where each planning policy applies (where it has a spatial application). To see more detail and the policy text itself, click on the map where there are layers or series of layers turned on and you will be presented with a pop up with more information. Click the policy number within this pop up to see the full Local Plan text.
