Blechynden Terrace Garden

The Gardens are built on the remains of the Emperia Buildings. A warehouse bombed in the Second World War. It is one of the last remaining bombsites from World War Two in Southampton’s city centre (the other being Holyrood Church). It was redesigned in 2018. It has an interpretative Corten steel screen and new Corten steel 'Moongate' arch. Its soft rubber crumb path designs hint at the bombing of the site and the scented planting softens the ruin.
