Armed Forces Covenant partnerships
We work in partnership with neighbouring councils to deliver the Armed Forces Covenant in the Solent. As well as Southampton City Council, this includes:
We call this partnership 'Strengthening Local Covenant Delivery'. The partnership aims to:
- Raise awareness of the support we offer to the Armed Forces community
- Share understanding of the needs of both veterans and personnel adapting to civilian life
- Review the effectiveness of these aims
Solent Armed Forces Covenant Partnership Board
The Solent Armed Forces Covenant Partnership Board represents the civil military partnership boards of:
- Gosport
- Havant
- Isle of Wight
- Portsmouth
- Southampton
It provides strategic governance for local delivery of the covenant.
Armed Forces Covenant Networking Group
The Armed Forces Covenant Networking Group is a forum for organisations committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. The group provides regular updates and shares best practice around the covenant. It also offers peer-to-peer support to help members progress through the covenant and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme stages. It is a space to connect, learn, and strengthen the impact of your pledge to the Armed Forces community.
