New Leader and Cabinet updates announced for Southampton City Council
At an Extraordinary Council Meeting today (Wednesday 3 January 2024), a new Leader of Southampton City Council, Councillor Lorna Fielker, took office following the resignation of Councillor Satvir Kaur in December and updates to the cabinet were announced
Councillor Lorna Fielker was elected by full Council as Leader after previously holding the role of Deputy Leader.
New cabinet members announced are:
Cabinet Member for Housing – Councillor Andy Frampton
Cabinet Member for Adults, Housing & Health – Councillor Marie Finn
Deputy Cabinet Member Green City and Net Zero – Councillor John Savage
The Southampton City Council Cabinet is now:
- Leader of Council – Councillor Lorna Fielker
- Cabinet Member for Children & Learning – Councillor Alexander Winning
- Cabinet Member for Communities & Leisure – Councillor Toqeer Kataria
- Cabinet Member for Economic Development – Councillor Sarah Bogle
- Cabinet Member for Finance and Change – Councillor Simon Letts
- Cabinet Member for Housing – Councillor Andy Frampton
- Cabinet Member for Adults, Housing & Health – Councillor Marie Finn
- Cabinet Member for Environment & Transport – Councillor Eamonn Keogh

Councillor Lorna Fielker, Leader of the Council, comments on the new role:
