Shared Care
Flexible care in Southampton
There are lots of different ways to care for people of all ages in Southampton from fostering through to sharing your life with an adult in need of extra help.
Flexibility and space are key. Having a spare bedroom is important as the person you are caring for will need space; it takes time to feel like they belong in your home. Flexibility about how and when you care means it can fit within your life; for example you could still work full or part-time and offer just evenings or weekend support.
We need people to help care for young children, young people and adults. Children need help to grow and thrive, young people to become more independent especially when things aren’t going smoothly and for adults who need someone to listen and or laugh with. Here’s how you could make a difference…
- Fostering – caring for a child or young person from 0-18 years of age
- Post-16 Accommodation – supporting young adults aged 16+
- Shared Lives – caring for adults who may have additional needs
