Employee wellbeing
We want you to flourish and achieve your best, so to help you improve your personal health and wellbeing we support you through:
- The EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) is here to help you, your partner, or children living with you, deal with problems that might adversely impact work performance, life, health, and wellbeing. This includes mental wellbeing (through access to support services including counselling), relationship advice, financial information, work related support on employment matters and legal information
- Our occupational health professionals advise on the management, prevention and treatment of ill-health and injury that impacts on work and helps you return to work after an illness or injury absence
- Mental Health First Aiders support you by offering listening time and by signposting you to support within or outside the council
- Wellbeing Champions work within teams to help raise awareness of positive wellbeing opportunities and promote healthy lifestyles and behaviours
- Our Wellbeing Lead works across the council to raise awareness and positive engagement in wellbeing
- We have signed the Menopause Pledge and have a positive attitude and will work proactively to make adjustments where necessary to support anyone experiencing the menopause
- Our Volunteering Policy lets you to take up to two days a year to volunteer
- Wellbeing Training for managers and employees will help you build and reinforce your skills and knowledge
- Dedicated webpages with advice and support and monthly Wellbeing Bulletins
