Fire safety events for high rise tenants

Fire safety events for high rise tenants
Each event will be run by members of our Building Safety team along with officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service. Residents are invited to drop in to ask questions, raise any concerns and receive advice and support on building safety matters.
You will be able to find out things like:
- How to make your home safer
- What to do in an emergency
- How often your block receives safety inspections
- Who is responsible for assessing risks
- How we listen and respond to any safety concerns
- What we could do better to make you feel safer in your own home
Fire officers will also be booking in free Safe and Well visits for eligible residents and there will be the chance to explore a working fire engine in the car park and learn more about fire safety equipment.
Events have already taken place at Rotterdam Towers and Hampton Towers in Weston, and will be followed at:
- Havre Towers, Weston – 16 July 12noon-3pm
- Oslo Towers, Weston – 13 August 9am-12noon
- Dumbleton Towers, Thornhill – 17 September 12noon-3pm
- Hightown Towers, Thornhill – 15 October 9am-12noon
- Meredith Towers Thornhill – 12 November 12noon-3pm
- Castle House, city centre – 10 December 9am-12noon
These information events are just part of how we work to keep you safe. Earlier this year we launched our Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy for residents, shared owners and leaseholders. Plus, a new tenants’ Building Safety group has been established to provide a platform for residents to discuss safety issues, challenge us on health and safety policies and raise concerns or questions.
