Come along to a tenant roadshow

Got a good idea or a burning question you’d love to put forward to the man in charge of council housing? Simply come along to one of our upcoming summer roadshows and you can talk directly with Director of Housing, Jamie Brenchley.

We’re inviting all council tenants and leaseholders to join us at a series of local roadshow events where you will have the opportunity to meet housing staff, raise any issues and suggest improvements. You can also learn more about the benefits of working with our tenant engagement team to bring about improvements to the housing service. Hear how tenants from various groups and forums have successfully lobbied for important changes to housing policies and procedures that are benefitting all tenants and leaseholders.

We are holding the free events in the East, West and Centre of Southampton – simply pop along to your nearest roadshow.

  • West – Shirley Towers, Wednesday 30 July 2025 10-11.30am look out for the gazebo in front of the block entrance. The Junior Neighbourhood Wardens will also be on hand organising activities for children
  • The dates for the East and Central areas are yet to be confirmed. Contact the tenant engagement team for more information via email or call 023 8083 3185, and we will bring you updates in upcoming issues of Tenants’ Link

If these pilot roadshows are a success we are hoping to roll them out on a regular basis in order to provide you with ongoing opportunities to meet and chat with senior members of housing staff.

If you can’t make it to your local roadshow remember there are lots of other ways for you to let us know your opinions of the housing service and make your voice heard. Our tenant engagement team offer a wide variety of opportunities – from completing a quick survey, joining a local tenant’s group, sitting on a citywide panel or forum, or attending an event. It doesn’t matter how you chose to get involved what’s important is that you can have your say and know that we are listening.

Don’t forget to check out our new online performance page where you can monitor how we’re doing and see where we need to get better. The online dashboard enables you to easily see our performance data so you can hold us to account on issues that you feel strongly about. It’s all about raising standards by giving you more insight into how we work, and empowering you to ensure that your voice is heard.

And for anyone interested in finding out more about the importance of tenant involvement, check out TPAS – a non-profit organisation that provides support and guidance to help you to be involved with your landlord or to lead activity in your community. TPAS membership is free for all our tenants, leaseholders and shared owners. Members receive a fortnightly newsletter TPAS talk with useful news and updates.
