Have your say on the future of our sheltered housing
We want to hear your thoughts on proposed changes to support services in our sheltered housing schemes, including face-to-face support from housing staff, emergency 24-hour support services, and the charges relating to these services.
Residents living in larger complexes are likely to see the least changes, whilst those in smaller blocks will have the option to opt in or out of certain support services.
Find out more about the proposed support service re-design consultation and then complete the online survey or send us an email with your views. You can request a paper copy of the questionnaire at any Southampton library or download and print at home. The survey runs until Monday 21 April 2025.
April is National Child Employment Awareness Month
If your child has a part time job, or if you work for a business that employs school aged children, it is important there is a work permit in place in line with legislation. Much like the Council’s duty to you as tenants, we also have a duty to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of any children in employment.
Part time work can provide children with valuable opportunities and life experience, but the employment must be lawful for the safeguarding of the child. If you are considering offering employment to a young person, or your child is looking for a part time job please find out more about child employment and permits or get in touch if you have any questions. Children who are part of the entertainment industry require a different type of licensing.
Have your say about local policing
If you want to raise an issue to do with crime or policing in your local neighbourhood did you know that you can use the Let's Talk online survey to voice your concerns? It’s a way for you to let the police know about local issues and for them to listen and react to any problems that you face in your community.
And if you haven’t already signed up to Hampshire Alert, simply register for this free messaging service to receive messages about crime, witness appeals and general policing activity and issues in your local area.
