Canberra Towers energy refurbishment project

Canberra Towers is a high-rise tower block, with 144 two-bedroom flats located prominently on Weston Shore.

An energy refurbishment project was scheduled to commence early 2025, to include the following improvements:

  • New windows
  • New roof
  • External wall insulation
  • Improved ventilation
  • Balcony refurbishment

However, following the Regulator of Social Housing audit last year, the council have now had to review and re-prioritise its city-wide plans and services. This is a complex process and is currently ongoing and will form part of the council's Home Improvement Plan.

This means that the Canberra Towers project is currently paused and is unlikely to have the same improvement works completed as planned.

We are committed to keeping residents informed and we plan to update again late summer.
