Loft insulation
Background
The council is running a loft insulation project that helps people to significantly increase the amount of heat that is retained within a property. As more than 80% of heat in a home rises upwards, insulating the loft space is the most cost-effective way of helping our tenants use less energy. This reduces bills and is better for the environment.
We are offering free loft insulation to all our tenants regardless of Council Tax band, but depending on the type of property you have. We have already helped thousands of our tenants to reduce the energy they use within their homes.
It is important to remember that loft insulation in council-owned properties can only be installed by us. Using an external loft insulation company can cost you money and is a breach of your tenancy agreement.
