Important news about the housing register

We’ve been busy making changes to the way we process housing applications to make the system faster, fairer, and more efficient. The new Homesearch service (previously called Homebid) was launched on 20 January. Anyone who wants to apply for council housing must register on Homesearch, even if you were previously registered on Homebid.

Simply follow the onscreen registration instructions and get in touch if you have any queries. Although you can register now you won’t be able to bid for homes until April 2025.

Look out for the survey

Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to participate in our Tenant Satisfaction Survey. The survey will close later this month and we will update you with the results, and how we plan to respond to your feedback, later this year. Just check out future issues of Tenants’ Link for details.

Celebrate Chinese New Year 2025

Immerse yourself in the vibrant cultural heritage of Chinese New Year as we welcome the Year of the Snake with various events and activities this month, including 1 February at Guildhall Square and West Quay Shopping Centre, and on 8 February in Guildhall Square and MAST Mayflower Studios.

Plus, there will be Chinese Lantern Festivals taking place on 15 February in both Guildhall Square and in The Marlands and Westquay shopping centres.
