Our Jobs Fairs are free for people to attend and free for employers to exhibit at.
Grand Harbour Hotel, West Quay Road, Southampton, SO15 1AG
As the UK workforce ages and fewer younger people enter the labour market, employers will increasingly need to rely on the skills and experience of older workers if they are to remain competitive, increase productivity and growth, and avoid skills shortages in the future.
While there are more people aged 50+ in work than ever before, there are still significant numbers of people over the age of 50 leaving their jobs prematurely; a decision that can affect them both financially and socially.
On Monday 16 July 2018, we hosted a Fuller Working Lives Careers Event in partnership with Southampton Jobcentre and the Education Development Trust at the Grand Harbour Hotel.
This was an opportunity for people in Southampton to meet employers, training providers and support organisations to help them to retrain, regain or remain in employment to achieve a more financially secure future. At this event, people also had the chance to participate in free workshops to help improve their employability skills.
