Saving energy to save money
Energy Bill Relief Scheme
The Government's Energy Bill Relief Scheme (announced in September 2022) cuts energy prices for businesses, charities and public sector organisations such as schools and hospitals. The scheme covers energy use for six months from 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023. This scheme is due to be updated, for the latest information visit GOV.UK.
How you receive the reduction will depend on the type of contract you currently hold. You can read how the scheme works for businesses on GOV.UK. It is important to note that there is no need to apply to the scheme and discounts will be calculated automatically. If you receive a request for your bank details, this could be a scam.
After this initial six-month scheme, the government will provide ongoing, focused support for vulnerable industries. A review three months into the initial scheme will consider where this focused support should be targeted to help those most in need.
