Animal fouling

The Watch Your Step initiative was launched in response to the concerns of local residents about dog walkers who fail to clean up after their pets.

Street-specific reports of dog fouling problems are used to help identify ‘hot-spot’ areas to be targeted by the Watch Your Step team. Groups of concerned residents can then work together with the team to run a Watch Your Step campaign.

This campaign is designed to identify and educate offenders and use social media and prominent on-street signs to promote responsible dog ownership. Successful campaigns have been run in a variety of neighbourhoods where enough people are prepared to work together to stop dog fouling.
