Post 16 accommodation
What is Post-16 Accommodation?
At Southampton City Council, we are passionate about supporting young people as they make the exciting transition to independence and adulthood through our Post-16 Accommodation Services. We understand that this journey can come with its own set of challenges, especially for those who have faced adversity. That's why we offer nurturing and welcoming environments where young people can build the skills they need for independent living and lay a strong foundation for a bright future.
Our experienced team collaborates closely with both hosts and young people to develop personalised plans tailored to each individual’s goals and aspirations. We provide expert guidance and access to a wide range of resources to ensure comprehensive support throughout their journey. Through our Post-16 Accommodation Services, hosts are equipped with the tools and knowledge to guide young people in making informed decisions, achieving independence, and building a positive and successful future.
What our host and young people think of the service
"I am very happy with the service and support received which has enabled my young person to concentrate on achieving what is important to them."
"Being a host is rewarding. I have enjoyed watching my young people grow into adulthood and helping them archive things such as money management, driving, and gaining employment."
