Early Years and Childcare Conference 2025

The theme for our 2025 Early Years and Childcare Conference 'The power of YOU' recognises the contribution and impact of the vital role our dedicated early years SENDCos and one-to-one practitioners play in supporting the most vulnerable children across the city.

We are delighted to welcome Shonette Bason Wood as our fabulous guest speaker. Shonette is well known for her 'Dough Disco ™' and her innovative 'Spread the happiness' teacher training. We hope Shonette will bring happiness, fun and inspiration to the day and reinforce the value of YOU and the difference you make every day.

We have a full day planned and, in addition to our guest speaker, we have some exciting SEND focused workshops on offer. Delegates will choose two workshops from the five on offer, covering:

  • Sustainable Early Years Music (Ignacio Agrimbau)
  • Trauma Informed Practice (Rachel Booth)
  • Sensory Occupational Therapy – Sensory Integration (Clare Knight & Matt Knight)
  • Aided Language Boards (Emma Rosenburg)
  • Portage Inclusive Learning and Play (Southampton Portage Team)

Lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be included.

Cost:

  • £75 per delegate (Southampton Early Years Settings, Childminders & Schools)
  • £100 per delegate (out of Southampton providers/Academies)

Places are limited and we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

Inclusion Support Funding can be applied for to cover the cost of tickets for those who are eligible, for further details see SEND funding for education settings.
