Children and young people's participation
Participation is when children and young people are able to express themselves, have a say in decisions or issues that affect their lives and are listened to and understood so that their view is taken into account
It is important that the children and young people are able to properly participate.
What are the benefits of participation?
- Builds confidence and self-esteem as children and young people feel valued and appreciated

- Helps keep children and young people safe
- Helps children and young people to meet new people and make friends
To be effective, we must make sure that the participation of children and young people is supported in a meaningful way. This means we should not promise or say anything before doing something different.
