Public Notices: Approved Venue Applications
In accordance with the Marriages and Civil Partnerships (approved Premises) Regulations 2005 and on behalf of the General Register Office, Southampton City Council is required to publicise all pending applications for Approved Venue status.
The public notice consultation runs for 21 days from the date of the notice. Applications and plans under consultation can be viewed at the address below by appointment. To make an appointment, please contact us.

Raising an objection
Members of the public wishing to object to an application should submit the reasons for their objection in writing within 21 days of the date of notice. Please write to us.
At the end of the 21 days notice period, the notice will be removed and no longer subject to public objection for the purposes of an application.

Notice of Application for Approval of Premises
Southampton City Council being the authority for the purposes of The Marriages and Civil Partnerships (Approved Premises) Regulations 2005, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an application has been made by – HICP Limited Queens Court, 9-17 Eastern Road, Romford, Essex RN1 3NG, operator of premises situated at and known as Holiday Inn Southampton, Herbert Walker Avenue, Southampton SO15 1HJ for approval of those premises for the solemnization of marriages in pursuance of Section 26(1)(bb) of the Marriage Act 1949 and civil partnership registration in pursuance of Section 6(3A)(a) of the Civil Partnership Act 2004.
The application, together with a plan of the premises which accompanied it, may be inspected at The Register Office, 6a Bugle Street, Southampton during opening hours.
Any person may give notice in writing of an objection to the grant of approval of such application, with reasons for that objection, during the 21 days that this notice appears on the Southampton City Council website.
Such notice of objection should be given to the authority for the attention of the Proper Officer for Registration, c/o The Register Office, 6a Bugle Street, Southampton, SO14 2AJ.
