Carers Coproduction
Are you looking after someone? We want to hear from you!
Many of us will support a friend, family member or loved one at some point in our lives. This could be because of a physical health condition, a learning disability, sensory impairment or mental health condition. Looking after someone can take many forms:
- Shopping, cooking or cleaning
- Help to get dressed, get into bed, or with personal care
- Transport to appointments
- Phone calls for emotional support
- Help to manage bills and paperwork
- Managing medication and treatments
- And much more
The support you offer might take just a few minutes a day or might take most of your available time. You might support someone for a few weeks, or for most of their lives. The person you care for may or may not have support from the council or other services. What matters is the support you provide to them.
If you look after someone, Southampton City Council want to hear from you. We want to understand the challenges you face and how we and our partner organisations (such as the NHS) can best support you. Your experiences and views will help us develop the support and services that address your needs and concerns. This ensures we can offer the best possible support for people like you who look after a loved one.
To hear more about the work we are doing, or if you want to get involved in helping us to shape support and services in the future, please sign up to the mailing list below.
You can choose whether to be contacted via email or a WhatsApp group. We may be able to offer additional contact methods in future.
