Southampton Learning Disability Partnership Board
The Learning Disabilities Partnership Board is made up of a wide range of stakeholders. These teams meet to discuss topics related to people with learning disabilities. The board uses its time to hear about issues affecting people with learning disabilities and their carers. They also consider what actions can be taken to support improvements.
The type of topics discussed at the board include:
- Health services
- Social care
- Employment
- Education
- Transport
- Inclusion in local communities
The board is jointly chaired between the Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Care and members of the ‘Busy People’ self-advocacy group of individuals with learning disabilities. The board usually meets every six weeks. It includes people with learning disabilities, carers, health and social care representatives, and service provider representatives. Other people are invited based on the topics being discussed.
Board meetings are now hybrid, allowing people to attend either online or face to face.
