Worried about work or looking for a job?
Worried about work or looking for a job?
We know there are lots of reasons why people struggle to find work. Maybe you’ve had a long career break because you’ve been bringing up children or cared for a family member, suffered from health issues, or you’ve been in prison or homeless and unable to work. Whether you were sacked from your previous job, left school early and have no qualifications or are worried about poor reading and writing skills – don’t worry, we can help.
Our free employment service – just for council tenants and leaseholders – offers expert one to one advice to help you find work or increase your hours - whatever your personal situation or background.
John from Lordshill is just one of the many tenants we have helped to find paid work, he says “I was low on confidence and felt really unsure about trying something new, but the employment advisor was so friendly and non-judgemental. He helped me every step of the way – from identifying my skills, writing my CV and getting me ready for the interview. It really boosted my confidence; I couldn’t have done it without him!”
If you, or someone you know, needs some support finding work, simply drop in to one our free weekly work clubs (held in locations across the city) to chat with an employment advisor. You can use computers, access the internet, gain useful tips on how to search and apply for job adverts, write a CV, answer interview questions and access courses to boost your confidence, motivation and skills.
Simply get in touch to find out more, or if you don’t feel confident dropping in to a work club and would prefer to chat over the phone to receive advice and support, please call Francesca on 07811 165129.
Engaging with this service won’t affect your benefits, it is free and helps show the job centre that you are trying to find work.
