Whatever you want to say – we’re listening!

As a tenant or leaseholder your voice matters, and we rely on your feedback. There are lots of ways for you to tell us what you think and genuinely influence the service you receive. In fact, just under 80% of tenants who responded to a recent survey said they felt their involvement led to improvements in the housing service.

Our Tenant Engagement team offer a wide range of opportunities for you to engage with the council and hold us to account; from joining a formal group or feedback panel, volunteering on an individual basis, completing a quick survey or attending a training session.

A recent survey conducted by the Tenant Engagement team amongst involved tenants clearly shows the benefits of getting involved and speaking up:

  • 85% of respondents felt they were treated with fairness and respect
  • 76% of respondents felt they were listened to
  • 98% of respondents found training sessions useful
  • 79% of respondents felt their involvement led to improvements in the housing service

If you are interested in a particular aspect of the housing service – from repairs to finance, fire safety to grass cutting - you can volunteer to help us look in more detail, suggest improvements and hold us to account.

  • Become a Tenant Inspector to put our services under the spotlight
  • Join the Repairs Panel to suggest improvements to the repairs and maintenance service
  • Sit on the Tenant Resource Group to look at how the housing budget is spent
  • Join the Tenant Scrutiny Panel to challenge us on how the Housing Service sets and meets targets
  • Raise concerns or ask questions on building and fire safety issues by joining the Building Safety Group
  • Join your local Tenants and Residents Association (or ask us to help you establish one) to raise local concerns and get involved in community activities
  • Volunteer as a Block or Street rep to represent your neighbours, raise local issues and work with us to get problems resolved
  • Help keep local green areas clean and tidy by becoming a Green Space Monitor and completing a short monthly questionnaire
