Learn something new on a free training course
Learn something new on a free training course
Our latest training programme offers a diverse range of courses exclusively for tenants and leaseholders.
All sessions are free of charge and delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment. We offer locations across the city and some courses are delivered online so you can join in from the comfort of your own home.
It’s a great opportunity to learn practical skills that could benefit you personally and professionally. From developing your IT abilities, to learning how to take minutes, work as a team and effectively chair a meeting – all useful skills that could be added to your CV to help you find a new or a better job.
Other upcoming training sessions include guidance on issues such as how to avoid online scams and how to use online video calling, which is valuable knowledge for anyone who uses the internet. If you’re part of a tenants’ association or local group, you can find out how to apply for grants to fund local projects that benefit your community.
And if you’re interested in working with us to improve the Housing Service but don’t know where to start, we offer a range of courses to equip you with skills and knowledge about your rights as a tenant, such as sessions on the Tenant Satisfaction Measures, how we spend your rent money and how to make a complaint.
Hundreds of tenants and leaseholders have benefited from our training over the years, including Karen, a tenant from Millbrook who says: "I’ve always found the training to be excellent. The sessions are informal but really informative. I’ve learnt lots of new skills and it has helped me build my confidence, plus I’ve got to meet new people and made new friends. I would encourage every tenant to try it as there are so many different courses on offer there is bound to be a topic of interest to you."
